Writerly Get Togethers

Saturday, hubby and I had an opportunity to attend a potluck with a bunch of other writers. Can I just tell you how fun it is to live in a place so rich in the publishing industry?

Do you ever have a chance to meet up for social events with other writers?

  2. That sounds like so much fun. No, I don't a bunch of writer friends here to do that with. But I do have a friend who I go to lunch with sometimes.

  3. I belong to a writer's group. And we see each other three times a month. It's wonderful to have someone to share your writing journey with who understand everything from the emotions you go through to the problems we face.

    Hugs and chocolate,

  4. I am fortunate that my writer's group meets once a week, and we are rather social. Last week, we had a nice dinner with the group at the house of one of the members, which was quite nice. And we didn't bore my wife by talking about writing all night!

  5. Not at someone's home like this, but I've been out to a restaurant with some local writer friends. This reminds me that it's time we organized another night out!

  7. Hey, I recognize some of those people!

My local writers groups have get togethers, but I usually only go to the conferences once or twice a year. It is great to meet people in person, though, and I love connecting with other writers and talking shop. :)

  9. Fun! Like a few of the commentators here, I have an in-person writing group that meets twice a month (usually). It's my first in-person group. We started at the beginning of the year and it's amazing how quickly they become a lifeline!
