I've been fascinated for years (all right, decades) with the Kiersey Personality Sorter. It was based on the MMPI, which is a comprehensive test, something like 600 questions. The MMPI is used a lot in dealing with mental illness, but for people trained in what to look for it tells a lot more about the people taking it than they would ever dream.
The Kiersey is much shorter and has many practical uses. They give it to department heads at work. There are no right or wrong answers to the questions, but merely give insight into how the taker views the world.
You can find my March 21st post here where I provide an overview of it, and my March 28th post here where I discuss Introverts vs Extroverts. I'll take the series up again in May.
I'm an EXFP -- you'll have to check out the March 21st post to see what that means.
What is your personality type?
What is my personality type? Hmm, depends on my mood and if I've been fed any chocolate ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great subject for your K word. Heavens knows what my personality type is, usually I love a good laugh and am positive but of coure there are days when things are not so good owing to what is happening in your life.
ReplyDeleteMost interesting to read.

ReplyDeleteI remember learning in grad school about how to administer and use the MMPI. My husband and I were not surprised to find we are the same on one trait and total opposites on another. Though I have a feeling if I took it again, I will score differently at least to some degree.
ReplyDeleteOooh I love things like this! I must peruse this at length over the weekend (and read the results through my fingers...)
ReplyDeleteMine has changed over the years Introvert to Extrovert back to Introvert.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I wanted to get a closer look at the letters and their meanings, but it's much too small for me to make out. It might be the small screen resolution on my computer though.
ReplyDeleteI think I mentioned before I'm an INTJ. I'm a complete introvert.
ReplyDeleteOoh, and I have a picture on my blog today that you're gonna like. :))
Introvert at times and being an extrovert wannabe other times..haha
ReplyDeleteI am forcing myself to be a bit more of an extrovert because I was so miserable as the introvert that comes naturally to me, but if I could have lots of friends who only wanted to hang out occasionally, I would be the most happy.
ReplyDeleteI am an INFJ! With just a little T thrown in for balance :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by yesterday! Great topic for K!

Hahaha, I remember taking this and totally mispelling what I was, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm def. a ENFP. We are close!
I'm probably an introvert since I thrive on alone time whereas even though I enjoy social events, I'm exhausted afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIdealist! Me? Weeeellll....OK :-) I did this when it was on your blog before and the results were the same. I'm an INFP
ReplyDeleteI'll have to take the test and find out.
ReplyDeletehah, I am an INFJ, sometimes T as well but it really depends. I remember the first time my husband came to my apt. to confirm my date (I just met him 4 days earlier) we did this together because the book was on my coffee table and that was the minute I knew I was going to marry this man....It was four years later, but I did!
ReplyDeleteI took the Meyers-Briggs test for one of my jobs (a Fellowship position where they wanted us all to work together very closely and know each other's personality types to maximize productivity...sounds odd, I know). I'm an INTP :)
ReplyDeleteISFJ. :)
ReplyDeleteI took the basic test again and it said I'm a Guardian. Wow, newsflash. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe personality tests are fascinating. I need to take it to figure out mine! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteENTP here, just about bordering on INTP! ;)
ReplyDeleteAt least that was several years ago in college. I should probably take it again and see if it still holds true!
It was certainly NOT a common one in my business major!
