I took lots of fun pictures because a future book is going to be situated here. It made it an interesting experience, as I wandered around, trying to imagine different things for my book.
Following are some pictures. Did I mention I loved this place?
Cong Abbey |
Time for lunch--and the food was SO yummy! |
I had to take a picture of this. Like some people have a place on their trucks for rifles? This guy has a fishing pole. |
Have you ever had a chance to visit the Emerald Isle? If so, what was your favorite place? If you haven't been so lucky, where have you had a chance to visit?
Now here's a place that is dear to my heart. I lived in Norther Ireland for three years, and have visited the South on numerous oaccasions to see my favourite singer Daniel O Donnell who comes from County Donegal.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned the film The Quiet Man", well this year Maureen O Hara went back to Ireland and Daniel sang the song from the film with Maureen joining in.
Great I post.
Yvonne.

Great post, beautiful place. I love "the Quiet Man'.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Donna. The only time I was in Ireland was when we spent a couple of hours in Shannon airport to switch planes before returning to the States. Some day I hope to go for a real visit.
ReplyDeleteThis place looks amazing! I have always wanted to visit either Ireland or Scotland. These pictures make me want to go even more. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! I've never been to Ireland, though I'd like to go.
ReplyDeleteI can't say this is on my bucket list, but I've always wanted to build an organic fairy house and leave it in a moss-covered forest somewhere in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteNever been there but looks like a great place to visit, so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm totally jealous that you got to go there!
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed that I live so close, and yet have never been!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that's where they filmed _The Quiet Man_, very rad!
ReplyDeleteI'm so bummed I didn't have time to include Ireland in my trip. I really want to see it. Your pictures are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend went to Ireland last year too and I swear I thought he wasn't going to come home. He LOVED it! I want to go really bad...will get there one of these days. :-) Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is beautiful! I want to visit there so bad. Luckily it's one place my husband WILL go with me! The pictures are amazing. I'm green with envy! :)
ReplyDeleteNever made it to Ireland during my trips, but someday. Really dig old Abbeys. Your photos are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love Ireland. I'd love to go back one day. I have a soft spot for all the western counties.
ReplyDeleteThat architecture looks spectacular. I'm left wondering what the interior of the Hungry Monk Cafe looks like ...
ReplyDeleteIf the monks are hungry, the food shall be plentiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI visited Ireland once, many years ago, and loved it. Favourite place? Probably Dingle, out on the west coast.
ReplyDeleteThat pub brought back memories. Not been to that particular one, but it looks so typical of the pubs we frequented everywhere on our tour. Great food, great beer.
Thanks for sharing these pictures. I haven't been to Ireland, but I'd love to travel there.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are darling, such beautiful structures and got to love a man focused on his fishing :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... these pics are amazzzzzing... I'm so incredibly jealous, Donna... Looks like it was a fabulous trip! Wow. :D
ReplyDeleteMy sister just got back. I was green with envy, I tell you. I DID get to go to her mansion to mind her kids for her, though. I did murals on her walls. She lucked out all the way around...:o)
