2015 Reading Goals

First and foremost, I'm a reader. A voracious reader. When I started writing, the amount of time I had to read decreased. Thank heavens for audiobooks!

In 2013, I took Goodreads Reading Challenge. I thought, if nothing else, it's a great way to keep track of the books I've read over the course of the year.

Since I've done so well, I've upped my challenge for 2015. I'm going to read (listen to) 75 books this year.

Here's what I've finished so far in January. Kind of a nice variety.

Yeah, I'm trying to beat Medeia Sharif. That woman is a reading machine! And a prolific writer as well.

And speaking of Medeia, she's got a blog tour going on right now for her newest release, 52 Likes. *shivers* I've only had a chance to read the very beginning--just to tease myself. It's a chilling premise.

Today's the last day to sign up for her giveaway, too. So drop by and congratulate her and check out the books she's read.

After a brutal rape and near-murder, Valerie wants to get past feelings of victimhood from both the assault and her history of being bullied. She’s plagued by not knowing the identity of her rapist and by the nasty rumors in school about that night. Valerie follows clues from ghostly entities, past victims of the rapist-murderer, contacting her through a social media site—why do all of their eerie photos have 52 likes under them? Their messages are leading her to the mystery man, although he’ll put up a fight to remain hidden.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

  1. Beat Medeia? Good luck!
I've actually read four books this month. Four! That's a record for me.

    1. I know, right? Like I said though. Audiobooks save my day because I can listen while I'm doing other things--like getting ready for work, shopping, etc.

  2. Yeah, I see how fast some of you read books on Goodreads and I'm amazed. I've never been a fast reader, and lately I've been drawn to really, really long books. Takes me forever to get through them. But I enjoy savoring books and mulling over the words. I'll probably do a lot of that this weekend. :)

  4. I'm so impressed with you. Since Rudy died, I've been watching more TV and reading less. Not even keeping track right now. I think I'm on book 3. Not so bad.

  6. That's quite a lot of books for one month :) I'm not reading anything... I can't read while I'm translating, because my eyes get too tired after I finish a day of translating. I'm currently working on John le Carre

  7. I just realized my Kindle will read to me- yes, it's in that boring computer voice, but still, I can listen to books while washing dishes. That's a woot woot!!

    1. Yes! I know a lady who listens to all her books that way. I have an iPad, and that feature doesn't work with the Kindle App.

  10. Awesome goal, Donna. I get too distracted to listen to audiobooks for some reason, but if I had a long commute I would definitely listen to help the time pass. My goal this year is 25 and I'm almost finished with my second.

Medeia's book sounds creepy but good! I'll have to check it out.
