Monday Meanderings

No movies seen this week. Bummer,

Got family visiting this week (yay!), and we've been searching for a good locale to build/buy our retirement homes. Hubby's brother and sister-in-law, the ones we went on the cruise with last January. But back to future retirement. Dang, but homes are expensive. I doubt I'd be able to afford to live in my city if we hadn't bought when we did. Kind of depressing.

So, I wanted something funny to share. Jeanne Robertson has a great sense of humor. Notice how mocking she can be. But this one makes me laugh out loud every time.

It's well worth watching to the end.

Cover Reveal!

After celebrating college graduation with her friends in Las Vegas, Amanda St. Claire wakes up with a terrible hangover and a ring on her finger. Her day gets worse when she finds out she's married to rich playboy Blake Worthington---the guy she has loathed the past four years. Amanda convinces Blake to legally terminate the marriage and they both return home like nothing ever happened. That is, until Blake shows up on her doorstep and Amanda has to come clean with her family.

Together for better or worse while the legalities are cleared, Amanda reluctantly plays along, but then the unthinkable happens---she finds herself falling in love with Blake.

Can they overcome the past?  Or will it end their future before it even starts?

See any movies this week? What did I miss?

  1. Are you in there? Funny. Bungee jumping? Really?
My wife is already planning where we'll live when I retire. I keep telling her we still have a good ten years or more - don't rush it.

    1. Well, my retirement's a bit closer than that. But still too far away.

  3. I've seen 2012 UNCONDITIONAL with Lynn Collins and Michael Ealy and it was the most amazing movie I've ever seen! An absolute heartwarming bliss

  5. I saw The Giver this weekend. I liked it and didn't mind the changes from the book. I don't think it did well at the box office, though. And I love stories where people are married and then fall in love (Greencard, Love Comes Softly, etc.) Congrats to Lisa.

    1. I hated the book The Giver, so I don't really have any desire to see the movie. As for Lisa's book, I'm looking forward to reading it.

  6. Retirement is a state of mind. My dad tried it once and it drove him crazy. He's working again, and perhaps it keeps him young:)

  7. So funny. I've never heard a bungee story like this one. Great cover.

I already live in Florida, so I'm set for retirement.

    1. We're not looking out of state. In fact, the in laws are moving here from California.

  8. LOL! I always love everything you share, Donna. :) And no movies for me either. Often times it's more work to get a sitter than to just stay home in the chaos, LOL…

    1. Thank heavens there are other options, right? I remember back in the day having to wait three years or more for feature films to get on TV--and then you had to hope they didn't totally ruin it with their editing.

    1. I know. I'm wondering what the complication is for him that he can't just get a quickie divorce to go along with the quickie marriage.

  10. Haha--thanks for sharing Jeanne.

I was talking with a friend today about the advertised retirement homes this way--so your is a relevant topic. We both agreed that they were pricey as well considering how far they were from services that seniors would use most. But ours is a non-urban area though.

I hope you find a great deal.
