Revise and Resubmit

Well, I sent it in last night. For good or ill. I'll be focusing on a new story for Camp NaNo, so I think my timing is perfect.

So, why does my stomach hurt?

This is my old Sensei breaking 4 bricks. Pretty cool, huh? If he can do that, I can do this.

  1. Sure you can and that be so awesome to break those bricks, but I'd break myself.

  2. I understand how revising your original vision can make you feel somehow...violated, for lack of a better word. It'll grow on you though. I'm sure it's great & works better for the agent. If not, you don't have to keep it. I hope it does work though. I hope you're offered representation. Good luck!

  3. Good luck, Donna!

And it's okay if your stomach hurts. This whole business is nerve-wracking at times. It's hard not to feel as if you just ripped out your heart and sent it to someone who might stomp on it.

But I always ask myself if I'd rather choose the alternative: just stop and quit altogether.

And because that's an option I totally reject, it makes the stomach ache more tolerable. :D

  4. Take a breath, relax a bit, and then on to the next thing. Good luck with the R&R, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

  5. Do your best and leave the rest. Camp NaNo will be a great distraction.

  6. Eventually you can reach the point of having your "baby" die the death of a thousand qualifications. There is a time to let go. Just as with our children.

I hope you have an exciting time at camp.
