Well, I sent it in last night. For good or ill. I'll be focusing on a new story for Camp NaNo, so I think my timing is perfect.
So, why does my stomach hurt?
This is my old Sensei breaking 4 bricks. Pretty cool, huh? If he can do that, I can do this. |
Sure you can and that be so awesome to break those bricks, but I'd break myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI understand how revising your original vision can make you feel somehow...violated, for lack of a better word. It'll grow on you though. I'm sure it's great & works better for the agent. If not, you don't have to keep it. I hope it does work though. I hope you're offered representation. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThink positive!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Donna!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's okay if your stomach hurts. This whole business is nerve-wracking at times. It's hard not to feel as if you just ripped out your heart and sent it to someone who might stomp on it.
But I always ask myself if I'd rather choose the alternative: just stop and quit altogether.
And because that's an option I totally reject, it makes the stomach ache more tolerable. :D
Take a breath, relax a bit, and then on to the next thing. Good luck with the R&R, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
ReplyDeleteDo your best and leave the rest. Camp NaNo will be a great distraction.
ReplyDeleteEventually you can reach the point of having your "baby" die the death of a thousand qualifications. There is a time to let go. Just as with our children.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an exciting time at camp.
yay camp nano!
ReplyDeletei got a reality check, honest feedback from an agent on my ms, but am putting it on hold for a fresh start too! good luck!
Good luck! It's for good, I'm sure. :)
ReplyDeleteAH!!! Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, writing a new one is a great idea. Get your mind off it :)
You had such amazing feedback that I think this is a formality.
ReplyDelete...BUT GOOD LUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteSending good wishes your way.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Donna! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats for sending it off! sometimes a person needs to give it a nudge out the door to make room for more great stories. :)
