Dealing with a lot in real life and nearly blew this month's post!
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
The awesome co-hosts for the July 2 posting of the IWSG are
Rebecca Douglass, Natalie Aguirre, Cathrina Constantine, and Louise Barbour!

July 2 question - Is there a genre you haven't tried writing in yet that you really want to try? If so, do you plan on trying it?
My answer is a simple yes. I read all kinds of genres, so there are several I would like to try.
Sadly, the people who follow me aren't always so flexible, so I haven't branched off much. But I do have a second penname that will be for my fantasy and sci-fi stories if I live long enough to finish the ones I've begun. lol
What about you?
A pen name! Very cool.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but no one really knows about it. lol
DeleteI was just gonna ask what is happening with that other fantasy blog of yours.
ReplyDeleteSadly, nothing!
DeleteI think it's a hard balance between trying something new and giving readers the stories they expect from you.
ReplyDeleteVery hard! I've always been such a wide reader it never occurred to me others weren't.
DeleteHaha! Well, you got here -- late is better than not at all. I think it's such a pain to establish a new identity that the marketing aspect between genre jumping may not be worth it. Pseudonym wise.
ReplyDeleteYeah. The only thing I've published under that pen name is a love project.
DeletePen names can be a good way to write a new genre without turning off one's current readers.
ReplyDeleteRight, assuming anyone finds it. lol
