I went to a work conference for three days last week. One presenter did a fabulous class on dealing with difficult people. It's was a fascinating class, and I thought it had great implications for writing. Unfortunately, my notes got wet when a bottle leaked on the ride home. I'll have to ask my coworker for hers when I'm back in the office tomorrow. So, stay tuned ...
Second Meandering ...
Well, we're still here. Did any of you hear about the doomsday peeps who thought the blood moon last night meant the coming of the end of the world? I'm really glad I'm still here. I have the day off from work and planned to get a lot done today.
Third Meandering ...
Did any of you know that there are professional organizers? Another tidbit from my work conference. The gal who taught the class has a website called Clear & SIMPLE. She made some great suggestions that I'm going to try to implement for my writing desk. I wish I could hire her to help my poor hubby. He has an aversion to paperwork but also can't bring himself to throw it away because he might need it. I bought him a scanner to help get rid of that. When the cool weather hits, I hope the scanner will get a lot of use.
Fourth Meandering ...
Living in the Rocky Mountains means we get some gorgeous colors in the fall. We're just down the canyon from Sundance Ski Resort (owned by Robert Redford), and their ski lifts are open during the summer and fall for sightseeing and mountain biking. Following are a few photos from our Saturday lift trip.

Imagine having enough money to own a home here. |
There was some kind of festival going one. Lots of little vendors in those white tents. |
That's what I did this weekend. How about you?
loved those shots.
ReplyDeleteThat means a lot coming from a photographer like you, Mac. :)
DeleteWow, amazing shots.
ReplyDeleteSorry your notes got water logged.
And enjoying Torn Canvas so far!
Oh, now I'm nervous, Alex! lol
DeleteYou sure have some great views. lol never heard about the world ending nuts and the blood moon. They need to go get a grip.
ReplyDeleteToo right about the getting a grip.
DeleteSounds like you went to a fantastic conference. It's always great when you get a lot out of it. Loved your pictures too.
ReplyDeleteI especially love my conferences when BOTH my jobs get something out of it.
DeleteYou know, your husband and mine MUST be related! I could use some organization tips myself, even though I'm not real bad, well, maybe just a bit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics of the mountains!
lol
DeleteNeat pics of the mountains. I went out to see the aspens in our mountains last week. Hit it right at peak. So beautiful. Love the fall. :)
ReplyDeleteIt can be tough to find the right balance with the colors, since the yellows (Aspens) come on later than the reds.
DeleteBeautiful country, thanks for sharing the pics. Spent the weekend with my tightest, oldest friends for a Milestone Birthday Party/Reunion (which included some eclipse watching). Great times, but boy am I tired!
ReplyDeleteHaving fun can really wear us out when we get a little older, can't it?
DeleteI would need a helicopter to fly to my home in those picturesque locations. Might be worth it for the ride . . .
ReplyDeleteI used to love going to work trainings and using the material in writing characters. I spent the week doing yard work and cleaning house. And critiquing. I'm hoping to do some actual writing over the next two weeks.
Starting tomorrow. Uh huh.
You do it, girl!
DeleteGreat meandering, Donna. Pleased you enjoyed the conference and that you gained lots of info - albeit in the form of soggy notes :) Been there, done that! Annoying :) I love the pictures. We live in a beautiful part of Germany and like you, we love to watch the changing colours of Autumn. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Germany's mountains. Gorgeous!
DeleteThose photos are gorgeous, Donna! Wish I lived somewhere in the nature!
ReplyDeleteI spent my weekend slowly finishing LET IT SNOW translation :)
It it getting you in the mood for winter? ;)
Deleteit is :) It's my little break from dystopia, because my next seven books are all dystopian :)
DeleteSeven? Wow. I hope you like dystopian.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place to live!
ReplyDeleteI need to check out that gal's website. I'm off to get some help.
She's entertaining as a speaker too. lol
DeleteLovely pictures. I've dealt with my fair share of difficult people and I deal with them better, but tips are always nice. I do know about professional organizers since I stumbled on a site once.
ReplyDeleteYeah. It's a skill that can be learned.
DeleteThe trees here in Tahoe are turning also, and it is beautiful. I love fall.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
DeleteI loved your photos. Wish I could come for a visit!
ReplyDeleteWe'd take you on the lift!
DeleteI love attending events and conferences. :P
ReplyDeleteThis view is amazing! Spectacular.
So much to learn, and I love learning.
