Most of the time, remakes just leave something to be desired. I cringe whenever I hear someone say they want to remake The Princess Bride or Gone With the Wind.
Example of a bad remake:
They should have left well enough alone.
On the other hand, sometimes they get it right.
The original was a great movie.
But I found this to be a hilarious updated version.
It's hard to believe that even this one is nearly 20 years old now.
How about you? What're your favorite and least favorite movie remakes?
You have to check my blog to find out. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
ReplyDeleteI hope they never do a remake of the Princess Bride, but you know it's going to happen...
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the remake of The Big Panther. Thanks for letting me know not to.
ReplyDeleteThere could in my opinion be only one Pink Panther film and that's with Peter Sellers, he made that fime the success it was no other person comes close.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Not a chance I'm watching the Pink Panther remake. That was Sellers' role.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in our blogfest!
I can't remember the last time I got excited about a remake.
ReplyDeleteTwo perfect choices. Sabrina was a good remake!
ReplyDeleteI loved the remake of Sabrina. I watched that one three times over.

I liked 'The Pink Panther' remake but nobody does it like Sellers. I also enjoyed the remake of 'Sabrina', but I don't think I have ever seen the original.
ReplyDeleteYou actually picked my Ultimate Favorite Movie of All Time, and that would be the new Sabrina with Harrison Ford. I've probably seen that movie about 800 times. :)
ReplyDeleteI also love, love, love the new Tron, but I'm not sure that's a remake as much as a continuation.
I loved those old Pink Panther movies. Peter Sellers was genius. :)
ReplyDeletePeter Sellers was a master making the Pink Panther. Steve Martin is just...what a waste.
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the blogfest! :)
I think I watched like the first 10 minutes of The Pink Panther remake and was turned off.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure the remake of Sabrina was better, but it was definitely just as good. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteOh, now I want to watch Sabrina again . . .thanks for the reminder of a wonderful movie!
ReplyDeleteI sat through the crap pink panther remake, blah indeed. Never watched Sabrina yet.
ReplyDeleteI expect to see Sabrina all over the place today. I love that remake.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot Sabrina was a remake! Yes I enjoyed both versions as well:)

I agree the new Sabrina was nice but the old one wasn't bad. Sorry I love Steve Martin in anything but that's probably just me. LOL
ReplyDeleteI thought the SABRINA remake was good, too. But as for PANTHER...ewww.
ReplyDeleteI loved Sabrina (both old and new) and I was pleasantly surprised by the new Gatsby.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, I picked your best as my worst. I thought the original Sabrina was a delightful picture but the remake left me cold. Which surprised me because I'm a big Harrison Ford fan and I really wanted to like it.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you on the Pink Panther.
No one can top Sellers Donna. Sweet choices.
ReplyDeleteI agree on Pink Panther and never saw either Sabrina.

I can remember watching The Pink Panther... that must have been about 100 years ago. LOL
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the remake, but that role belongs to Peter Sellers... birdy nyum nyum... that was hilarious!

Thanks for sharing your worst movie mistakes. I saw a remake of Dirty Dancing and was apalled.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the remake of Sabrina, but I did recently watch the original for the first time. Loved it. :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen either Pink Panther. But I'm fairly sure I'd hate a remake of the Princess Bride as it's one of my fave movies of all time.
