Fill the Cracks with Love

Today is the one-week anniversary of a terrible day for the people of Boston. Author Sarah Eden, in her post here, has issued a challenge for today. It comes from a comment her daughter made after the school shooting last December.

"When your heart breaks,
you choose what to fill the cracks with.
Love or hate.
But hate won't ever heal.
Only love can do that."

So I invite you to join Sarah today in looking for an opportunity to do a random act of kindness. It can be as simple as a word of encouragement.

Right now, we've got a lot of cracks to fill. I, for one, am going to fill mine with love.

  1. I was devastated to hear about what happened in Boston! So awful. Random Acts of Kindness can't reverse what happened, but it's certainly better to let the cracks be filled with love than with hate.

  2. I think I'm going to purchase a copy of Nightingale to help David out with his son's medical bills. Kindness helps keep us together in good and bad times. Much condolences to Boston. At least the bombers were found.

  7. Lovely post. Thanks for the reminder.

Since someone else mentioned David McFarland's books here, I want to thank you for bringing them to my attention. I'm 2/3 of the way through 'Million Dollar Outline' and it is fantastic. So helpful. A thousand thank yous!

  15. Great idea. It helps to keep us from concentrating on the bad stuff. My whole day was service. It would be feeling really cool right now except that the Hubs got angry at me for cleaning in our room...sigh. Kind of depressed now. More service.

  21. I'm a bit late to this but what a wonderful idea. Last week was so disturbing and hard to watch, this is a great way to rebound from it. I'm going to do it for the rest of the week.
