I signed up today for The Kindness Project over at Elana Johnson's blog. I couldn't resist. We sometimes hear of random acts of kindness--but they rarely make the news. Which is a shame.
I'm a firm believer that
our perception controls our reality.
That's my challenge this week: to get out of my head and look around me and see what's right in the world.
The best portion of a good man's life
is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.
~William Wordsworth
Great thing to do. There have been lots of great posts on being kinder today.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome thing to do. I'd sign up for it, but I have no idea what to write about.
ReplyDeleteHow often we focus on all the negatives around us, bringing ourselves down. I think this is a great message. Looking around us for what's good and right in the world can shape the way we interact with others.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that, but there are some things right I suppose haha
ReplyDeleteIt's cool that you're taking part. And thank you for becoming my 100th follower.
ReplyDeletePerception does make up a good bit of reality. Always happy to see someone trying to make the world better. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI think evil gets way too much press. I'm in it for the good guys. I love random acts of kindness!
ReplyDeleteSo true. I think something we're all guilty of from time to time, is making snap judgments about people from just how they look. Instead of seeing the Creator in them we see the color of their skin, the way they dress, their religion etc. and make decisions about them.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing idea! I love this project. It's so good to stop and look what is around us.
ReplyDeleteSooooooo true about perception... man... if only I could keep the right perception all the time...
ReplyDeleteAnd I heard about your good news!!!! HUGE CONGRATS, girl! I love you!!!! :D
Given the political state of things, that sounds like a wonderful idea. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine goal to have, Donna. Snaps for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Some days I'm in my head too much and I should look around more.
ReplyDeleteLove that quote! And I was just checking out a Wordsworth poem for a WIP~ he's got many good things to say :)
ReplyDeleteI've always thought this important. Even down to little things like letting someone out in traffic. Tellign someone how nice they look. Putting the supermarket trolleys back where they should go, picking up something knocked off a shelf in the store, telling the staff when a bottle of bleach has been spilled on the floor and become a hazards to other shoppers, I believe it all helps to make others lives less difficult.
ReplyDeleteA very great thing to do! A wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the kindness project--it's a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I felt kinder today, but someone is messing with me with a freelance project. Thanks for making me think about the bigger picture.
