A to Z - Group Hugs

"The only reward of virtue is virtue; the only way to have a friend is to be one."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

So what are you doing this weekend? John Carter of Mars has moved out of our regular theaters but isn't in the dollar flicks yet. Hubby would like to see that but I'm wondering about The Hunger Games. Anybody seen either of them? What are your thoughts?

  1. John Carter looks dreadful. The Hunger Games is amazing.

Off to see Wrath of the Titans.

  2. Love the quotation,
I haven't heard of The Hunger Games.
Perhaps it hasn't reached these shores yet.

    Happy Easter to you.

  3. Aww! That is the cutest picture ever! Hunger Games was an awesome movie, pretty true to the book. In the dollar theater, at least down where I'm at, their playing Beauty and the Beast 3-d. I might go see that. Classic.

  4. I want to be in that group hug!

Hunger Games was great, but I read the book as well. I've heard mixed reviews on the other.

  5. I gotta go see the Hunger Games. Might even talk my fifteen year old son into going with me, since he loved the series so much.

  6. Love Emerson quotes! I haven't been in the theatre in forever! A friend and I were considering The Hunger Games but I haven't read it so I'm not sure. No plans here but spring cleaning. My daughter has a room begging for my attention.

  9. I've been a little AWOL - the family imploded.Getting 'em back together. Group Hug a good idea.

Saw both movies - both good but my vote goes to John Carter. (I didn't like the Hunger books, so not an incredible fan of the movie, but it was pretty true to the book)

  16. Oh, definitely Hunger Games. John Carter was okay, except for the 3 times I fell asleep--I was really tired. My fam liked it, but not one of those movies that you give any thought to an hour after you've seen it.

    Loved the group hug.

  18. Kitties!

I enjoyed THG, as well as my husband, but spent the whole movie inwardly pouting that Peeta didn't have the heart throb face I'd hoped he would.

My husband wanted to see John Carter but it got poor reviews so we're waiting until it hits the dollar theaters. Plus, it seems like an Avatar spin off, and I disliked the story from that.

  20. I love the photo of the cats. I haven't seen either movie, but I'm thinking of going to see, "The Vow". A true story that sounds quite good. Have a lovely weekend.

  21. Oh gosh, what I wouldn't do to see a movie! I heard HG was good but I want to read it first so it'll have to wait til the DVD comes out.

  22. That's my kind of group hug. That is adorable!

Not seen either movie, but I know one has been raved about and one reviled. Then again, I don't place great store in other people's opinions because it's all so subjective. Now, where have I heard that before?

  23. My son has seen The Hunger Games twice. He really enjoyed it.

  24. That picture rocks :-)

I didn't dislike The Hunger Games. Is that an endorsement?

  26. Sending a virtual group hug from us Texas writers to you :-) But I suppose those kittens have our hug beat with all their cuteness lol!!!

I haven't seen John Carter or THG movie. Mixed reviews from different people about both movies. One person who did enjoy John Carter mentioned you have to just let the first 15 minutes pass then things get better. Someone who mentioned enjoyed THG movie also mentioned they were just a huge fan all round and appreciated the main character's handling of the role as Katniss.

As for me and my house, we shall laze about and read this weekend.
