A to Z - Dr. Who

I confess that I've only caught an occasional snippet of episodes of Dr. Who. But I've got friends who are crazy mad about the show.

The show made the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running science fiction show--2013 will mark its 50th anniversary.

That's pretty impressive.

This is a montage of some episodes.

This is an explanation of the show's history and the various actors who've played Dr. Who.

So, are you a fan? Have you even heard of this show?

  2. I can remember the first episode, myself and late husband thought it was great years down the line it seemed to loose it's appeal.

  4. Never seen it, no TV. I wonder if Netflix has it. I would love to catch a few episodes. Had no idea it had been on for so long.

  7. I remember it being on in the 70's but I never got into it. My daughter and her friend went nuts for it, and have since gotten me hooked. It's good fun, even if it doesn't always make sense.

  12. I haven't watched the original, but I really, really enjoy the modern continuation. (With doctors 9 through 11...they're about to start season 7 of the New Who.)

  15. I am a Whovian! I also live in Indiana, so that makes me a Whoosier! Hehehe! It's a brilliant show.

  16. I used to watch the old episodes when I was a kid. I think it was on the PBS channel. I know people who are crazy about this show still, but I tried to watch a recent episode and didn't get it at all. But I do like the Tardis.

  18. Dr Who is my favourite sci-fi show. Each doctor adds an extra dimension to the character, and the story lines just suck you (me)in. Maybe it's a British thing.

  21. Hey! I was around when the Daleks first rolled across the set! Mind you, I usually watched them from a safe vantage point peering around the end of the couch :)

I was an avid fan for many years, until somewhere in my teens.

  23. I've watched a few shows of Dr. Who. I enjoyed the shows but didn't get a chance to put the show on lockdown for regular viewing. However, I so wish I had that TARDIS...the damage, I mean, the great things I could do :-)

  24. We LOVE Dr. Who in this family. I went as a Weeping Angel for Halloween. In fact, Don't Blink is our favorite episode of all time. Plus I love the double episode where Dr. Who spawns a part-human Doctor who goes away with Rose to an alternate reality. It made me cry, that one.
