Monday Meanderings and a Cover Reveal

First Meandering ...

The winner of Friday's drawing for a copy of Marlene Bateman Sullivan's book For Sale by Owner is

Jill

Second Meandering ...

I found it necessary to step back from the Swing Vote edit this week to work on the timeline. One challenge is that I have to make the things that happen fit in with the state's election laws. It's actually been a help rather than a hindrance. It gives me very specific guidelines.

I wanted June 7th (the last day candidates for municipal election can file) to fall on a Friday, so I found which year that happens in, and I've got my next 90 days to calendar the different scenes. It also has shown me where I need to provide some other scenes in between.

Now to get this all on Scrivener ...

Third Meandering ... a cover reveal by Carrie Butler!

I've loved Carries other books, so I'm excited to share the cover for this action/adventure (disaster) romance. How cool is that? It comes out this December.

Deep beneath the ocean, stretching hundreds of miles alongside the Pacific Northwest coastline, lies the Cascadia subduction zone—a fault on the verge of unleashing a catastrophic earthquake, thirty times more powerful than the San Andreas. Unfortunately, like most tourists, Elena Cordova is oblivious.

She’s got her own pent-up stress to deal with, a humiliating breakup that’s driven her to end her tenure as a human doormat once and for all. So, when a pickpocket makes off with the last remnant of her relationship, she takes action—only to get trapped with him when disaster strikes.

Now, if either one hopes to survive, they’ll have to get past their initial impressions and work together . . . because in fifteen minutes, half the town will be underwater.

About the Author:
Carrie Butler is an award-winning author and the owner of Forward Authority full-service studio—not to mention an inbound-certified marketer with a penchant for superhero socks and Firefly. Time away from her desk is spent playing with her rescue pup, yelling at the TV during hockey season, and indulging in target-based recreation. Otherwise, you’re likely to find her glued to her chair, discovering new ways to share her daydreams...

Fourth Meandering ...

The house continues to move along. We've been working on wiring (part of the sweat equity the contractor's letting us do) for electricity, Internet, and lighting. This is a picture of one of my sons who's been helping install the canned lighting. This is the kitchen.

A funny (in the future but not right now) thing happened. We'd ordered the appliances and set them for delivery when we expected to be done--ninety days away.

Um ...

Things have taken longer than we'd hoped. So,  yeah. They tried to deliver them Friday. We'd completely forgotten about that, and Home Depot didn't bother to call and let us know they were on their way. Hubby had to make a mad dash to get a storage unit.

What have you been up to?
Seen any good movies?
Read any good books?
Done anything to enjoy the wonderful fall weather?

Sherry Gammon Audiobook Cover Reveal

Welcome my special guest, author Sherry Gammon!

Unlovable is now an audiobook!! If you click here you can get the audiobook for free with a 30 day free trial of Audible on Amazon!! You can't beat free!!

Along with the release of the audiobook, I've redesigned the covers of the first two books in the Port Fare series. ( I'm designing covers now. Click here and check them out!) To celebrate the new look, I am giving away paperback copies of the entire series.

Here is the new cover for Unlovable. I didn't change it too much because I really loved the original one. (Thank you, Paul Beeley), but another author came out with almost the exact same cover, including the coloring :'(

I kept the girl on the swing because she fits Maggie's story perfectly, though I did add flowers to the swing. The rest has been changed completely. I love the blues and pinks, and I've always wanted a moon on the cover. I also added Maggie's trailer in the background!

                                                             Here is the eBook cover:

And this is the Paperback

This is the audio book cover.

This is the new cover for Unbelievable! It's a real change. I feel this cover fits the story so much better. Lilah feels trapped by her domineering father and his demands. She desperately wants to break free...can't tell you anymore or I'll spoil the story  I feel this new cover portrays Lilah and what she is going through in a much stronger way, and it seems to fit in better with the other covers. While I loved the old cover, and had a huge say in its design, (Thank you again, Paul) it seemed out of place with book one & three's covers. This one holds the same "feel," if you will.

Here is the Ebook cover:

And this is the paperback

Unbearable's cover didn't really change, only the back was updated.

So, what do you think??

Monday Meanderings

No movies seen this week. Bummer,

Got family visiting this week (yay!), and we've been searching for a good locale to build/buy our retirement homes. Hubby's brother and sister-in-law, the ones we went on the cruise with last January. But back to future retirement. Dang, but homes are expensive. I doubt I'd be able to afford to live in my city if we hadn't bought when we did. Kind of depressing.

So, I wanted something funny to share. Jeanne Robertson has a great sense of humor. Notice how mocking she can be. But this one makes me laugh out loud every time.

It's well worth watching to the end.

The Ring of Morgana Cover Reveal

Interrupting a normally no-posting Wednesday ...

Isn't this cover gorgeous?

In a brand new series, Donna Hosie revisits Logres with THE CHILDREN OF CAMELOT.

Sixteen-year-old Mila Roth wants to be normal. It’s a phrase that has been drilled into her by her mother since she was born.

But Mila Roth is anything but normal. For sixteen years her parents have hidden a secret from her. For Mila was born one thousand years ago in the land of Logres, and far from being a math teacher and a housewife, Mila’s parents are the awakened King Arthur and Gorian druid queen, Morgana.

Two worlds, one thousand years apart. And those worlds are about to collide.

The spirit of the malevolent Lady of the Lake has been contained for sixteen years in the fabled Ring of Morgana. When the ring curses Mila’s younger sister, Lilly, the Roth family has no choice but to return Mila to the land of her birth as they face a battle against time itself.

Accompanied by her best friend, Rustin, Mila will have to decide whether to defy those she loves in order to save her sister. Should she trust the Gorian druids and the mysterious Melehan? What is the true cost to Mila’s heart as she strives to master the purple flame? And why have her mother and father denied the truth of her origins for so long?

For she alone has the combined power of royalty and druid magic within her.

And now only Mila can save Lilly and Logres.

THE RING OF MORGANA will be released in ebook and paperback on the 15th June 2014.

Cover Reveal - Spy for a Spy by Jordan McCollum

I'm so excited about this book because I loved I, Spy!

Spy for a Spy, the sequel to I, Spy, will be released November 12, 2013 (11-12-13!)

Already know you want to read it? Add Spy for a Spy on Goodreads.

Today, I am especially excited to reveal the cover! But first, a little more about the book.

About the Book

Canada is probably the last place you’d expect to find an American spy. And it was the last place CIA operative Talia Reynolds expected to run into fellow operative Brand Copley. AKA her new boss. AKA her ex-boyfriend.

Just the guy every woman wants to face in the middle of planning her wedding. Once again, Talia’s lying to the man she loves, but this time, to protect his heart.

After Brand takes over Talia’s latest case and steals her newest agent, he assigns her to spy on her old boss—who’s suddenly giving her every reason not to trust him. With only weeks until the big day, planning falls by the wayside as she goes into damage control mode. But when Talia discovers Brand’s real motives, fighting him is the only option, no matter what the personal and professional cost.

And now for the cover!

Advance praise

Spy for a Spy is the perfect followup to McCollum’s exciting debut, I, Spy. With more tension, more romance and higher stakes than ever, Talia’s story won’t let you go until you’ve come to the heart-stopping, surprising conclusion. Such a fun read!

Emily Gray Clawson, author of A Way Back to You

Jordan McCollum’s talent for first person present tense narrative puts the reader in the driver’s seat for heart-pounding action in Spy for a Spy. . . . Talia is back along with her fiancé Danny, and many of the same great characters from I, Spy. We also meet a man from Talia’s past, a high ranking CIA operative with secrets that threaten the U.S. . . . This novel is a perfect blend of danger, intrigue, romance and even a little of the LDS religon. It is a great read the whole way through.

— Becki Clayson

Spy for a Spy is a story threaded with an unforgettable main character, high stakes espionage, and a case of wedding jitters that would try the patience of any groom. McCollum deftly keeps us on a tightrope of page-turning suspense balanced with witty romance that will not let you down. A great follow-up to I, Spy, and one you don't want to miss!

About the author

An award-winning author, Jordan McCollum can’t resist a story where good defeats evil and true love conquers all. In her day job, she coerces people to do things they don’t want to, elicits information and generally manipulates the people she loves most—she’s a mom.

Jordan holds a degree in American Studies and Linguistics from Brigham Young University. When she catches a spare minute, her hobbies include reading, knitting and music. She lives with her husband and four children in Utah.

Cover Reveal - Cassie Mae's "Switched"

I have a special guest today
to reveal a little secret...
Take it away
Cassie Mae!

Yay! Tis time for another cover from yours truly.

Covers are the best part. Not gonna lie. So... time for the booty shake!

Are you reading still? I'm wondering how many of you have scrolled down to the hot guy down there. (Because, I admit, I do this) Hmm... testing... tell me your favorite color in the comments if you read this part! LOL.

Here's my stuff, and the book blurb and all that:

Cassie Mae is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about other nerds who find love. She’s the author of the Amazon Bestseller REASONS I FELL FOR THE FUNNY FAT FRIEND, and is the debut author for the Random House FLIRT line with her New Adult novels FRIDAY NIGHT ALIBI and SWITCHED. She also has a three book deal with Swoon Romance Publishing, including her book HOW TO DATE A NERD. She spends time with her angel children and perfect husband who fan her and feed her grapes while she clacks away on the keyboard. Then she wakes up from that dream world and manages to get a few words on the computer while the house explodes around her. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.

SWITCHED:

Cassie Mae redefines the New Adult genre with a novel that answers the eternal question: What do you do when you’re head-over-heels for your best friend’s guy?

Ever since high school, Kayla has been crazy for gorgeous football player Talon. But before she could muster the courage to tell him, he became a hot item with her beautiful BFF, Reagan. The only person who knows Kayla’s secret is Wesley, Talon’s best bud—and he’s got it bad for Reagan. Now they’re all in college together, hanging out 24/7. For Kayla, seeing the two lovebirds together is absolutely unbearable. So Kayla and Wesley hatch a plot to drive them apart. But time is ticking and they must act now, before Talon gives Reagan the Christmas gift she’s been waiting for.

Sure enough, the once-happy couple is fighting, Reagan suddenly can’t get enough of Wesley’s goofy sense of humor, and Talon seems to be paying more attention to Kayla than a guy who’s “just a friend” ever should. But something just isn’t right. Then Kayla and Wesley accidentally spend a night together, and discover a hitch they never considered: that switching partners may not lead to a perfect ending after all.

*dramatic drumroll!*

Okay, I love all my covers. But that guy, I can't stop looking at him. The girl is a perfect replica of Kayla too. So this makes me a happy pappy author :D

Spell for the day:

Incendio!
