This Writer's Outlet

With a new hip, I'm able to get around again. I can't quite do some of the things I was able to do before--like the almost-splits I could still do from my karate days. The doc warned me to be careful with the stretching because my bone is still growing around the metal of the new joint. I could dislocate it.

But I am able to garden again which really makes me happy. I write best in the morning, so it's nice to go out in the afternoon and mess with it the lovely raised bed hubby made for me.

I'm currently growing cooler weather plants--Romaine lettuce, sweet onions, red cabbage, iceberg lettuce (for grandpa), and spinach. I harvested some of the spinach yesterday. Yum!

What do you do for fun when you're not writing

(or whatever your main gig is)?

  1. Glad you are out gardening. Raised beds are the best.
    Main gig? Guitar, of course!

    1. When I was a kid we always had the yucky canned spinach. I hated it. I'd never considered eating it raw until I was an adult--and found I loved it. I hope your lettuce does well!
