Question: Has a single photo or work of art ever inspired a story?
What was it and did you finish it?
I
Now, a dream . . . definitely yes. What about you?
Morphs - that's a good word for it. Mine don't morph too far though.
ReplyDeleteI like to compare it to sculpture. You start with a lump and your finished product doesn't look anything like it.
DeleteI think epic winterscapes always inspire a good story! And castles and lush forests...
ReplyDeleteYes! So much scope for the imagination.
DeleteDefinitely a morphing going on with every rewrite it become something more and more its own.
ReplyDeleteExactly! The nibble of an idea becomes a fully fledged story.
DeleteI like morphing ideas. I have them too.
ReplyDeleteGotta love the morph. lol
DeleteMorph sure is a good word. As mine go all over
ReplyDeleteI'll bet! lol
DeleteSometimes an image from a dream will evoke something in me, but otherwise it could literally be anything:)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Almost anything can trigger story ideas.
DeleteI think I have to say no on the dream front. (They're just too weird...even for fiction.) Photograph, artwork, and music, however, are big ole yes.
ReplyDeleteStephen King gets many of his ideas from his dreams.
DeleteI keep seeing a lot of people post about dreams. I'm more into photographs. I love the fact that I can keep going back to them and finding more inspiration.
ReplyDeletePhotos can be great too! They make me want to visit places.
