Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Last weekend I wrote THE END on the first draft of Against the Magic, my Victorian time travel book. Today, I'm starting NaNo and I'm writing the book that will be part of the Destination Love series. I needed these reminders:
The end is awesome! Good luck with NaNo.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on THE END!! Super news. Good luck with NaNo!
ReplyDeleteThank you. For both!
DeleteCongratulations with finishing one draft and best of luck with the next project!
ReplyDeleteIt will be the first time I've moved this quickly from one project to another.
DeleteCongrats on finishing your manuscript and going right into another one with NaNo. You're so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks! *blushes*
DeleteCongrats on getting it done. Now time to build that sand castle, just hope no cats used the box beforehand lol
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely keep the cats out of the sand!
DeleteThat first quote helps me to keep moving forward. I am a perfectionist, so writing the first draft equals torture for me. Sort of.
ReplyDeleteThat's also why I dictate, so I can't see the screen and get marred with the desire to edit.
DeletePrachett got it right! And it seem you have, too! Here's to The End of a new story.
ReplyDeleteI love these quotes and use them often myself. Congrats on writing those 2 exciting words-The End. But writer's realize it's the end to the torturous first draft, and then on to the polishing edits. Wishing you great luck.
ReplyDeleteI've never participated in NaNo. Perhaps one year when I find the time and energy.
We don't "find" time. We "make" time. ;)
DeleteI'd kick ebil Victoria in her nasty bum if I could travel back into her dark times and I'd probably take her away through time to some sweat shop in current India and leave her there :)
ReplyDeleteHaha Tell us how you really feel about her, Dezzie!
DeleteI love those quotes! That's pretty much how I work.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a much healthier approach.
DeleteI rather despise first drafts, but I love those quotes. They kick the trash out of my "First drafts are garbage" mentality.
ReplyDeleteVictorian Time Travel, eh? You've got my interest.
My first drafts ARE garbage, but once I have them I can edit, which is where the real writing takes place for me.
DeleteAmen to that!
DeleteI do love that shovelling sand quote.
