IWSG - August 2015

Click here to find out more and to see a list of other IWSG blogs.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

I've finally sent off A Savage Ghost to my editor. The anthology releases in September. I should be totally stressed. I'm not.

Now, I'm scared.

Do you tend to worry when things seems to be going a little too well? Or save it up so it slams you later?

  1. Awesome! No worries, Donna. If you did your best on that story, that's all you needed to do.
I tend to spread my panic out. I like to remain even-keeled.

  2. Meh, the other shoe will drop at some point, no sense worrying about it and making it come faster.

  3. That's awesome, Donna. With all my life-changes, I could use some good times where everything goes well. I think I'd try to just enjoy it.

  4. I worry over everything, but I'm not saying it's the exemplary way to lead a life. ;) I can totally understand being terrified, but take a deep breath. This is going to be the thrill ride of your life.

  7. Congrats on finishing and sending the story to your editor! It's good you're not stressed. Not so good you're scared. Have I ever felt scared when things seemed to be going too well? That state of affairs has never happened to me, so I don't know. lol

    1. Lots of work ahead yet, but by the time I need to do that it should be in a day job lull.

  9. I sent off a revision to an agent on Monday. At first I was all Zen about it...whatever. Then she emailed back to say how excited she was to read it and would get to it ASAP. Commence freak out. Yeah, not doing so well while I wait. *bites off all the fingernails*

And, yes, congrats on getting the story out to the editor. :))

    1. Generally, I'm optimistic too. However, I've lived long enough to know this life has trials. lol

  12. Hi,
Strangely enough, I don't worry after I send something off. I usually jump into my next project and forget about it.
